entertainment center

Our new (to us) entertainment center should be delivered tomorrow! A great Craigslist.com find!! We went to see it today. It is a brute - a very solid oak, good quality entertainment center. This will de-clutter our living room and Don's stereo and our TV should fit nicely. It has lots of storage and the cords will not be exposed and no gaps at the bottom...no worries when Brett starts to crawl soon.

weight

At Brett's last doctor's appointment, he weighed in at 20 lbs. and 1 oz. He is 28 inches long. This weekend I went through some of his new clothes that still had tags on and pulled out some 9 month, 6-12 month, and 12 month items to wash. The size kind of depends upon the brand. He's definitely a growing boy! Today he wore a shades of blues and browns stripey shirt and tan corduroy overalls - so cute! After church tonight, one of our neighbors saw him and called him precious and wanted to touch his little toes.

As for my post-pregnancy weight...a little help has arrived. We've been wanting a treadmill. Don went to pick one up from his grandma in Arizona this weekend. She is getting ready to move and gave hers to us. I did my first workout on it tonight. Don did a 32 minute workout and kept "challenging" me to beat his time today...so I did! I doubled it and walked at a good pace at an incline for double that! I did 64 min. Hopefully, I can keep doing 1/2 hr. to 1 hr. workouts at least five times a week.
Other events of today = went to watch the Packer game and share a pizza. This photo is from last week's big game with Brett Favre on the rival team...the Vikings!

Brett used a Bumbo seat for the first time this weekend. A co-worker of mine let us borrow it. It does help him sit and he seems to enjoy it!

Also, he has been making the /m/ sound and we heard him say , "mom" as plain as day yeststerday when he was watching us put the treadmill together. He was able to sit in his high chair and watch us from the dining room. We propped the door to the garage open.

This is one of the letter m's I made for a rag-quilt letter swap that some of us are doing. We'll end up with a banner that reads, "Merry Christmas".

I love Pottery Barn Kids...

One of my favorite areas in the house...
the rocker.

Pictured: Pottery Barn's Alphabet Soup quilt and " night owl" pillow

are awesome on the rocking chair!

I love rocking Brett to sleep at night. He fights sleep and feeds and then snuggles against me. I love his warm & soft milky breaths against my cheek when he's resting on my shoulder. Pure contentment...

Brett's reversible crocheted blankie by Nana Patti - love it!

Here he is snoozing in his crib.

Pottery Barn's Alphabet soup bedding and mobile

Flannel rag-edged quilt by Shelly - love it!

Also, speaking of Pottery Barn Kids, I just bought this stocking on ebay (pictured above). The seller shipped really quickly and I can't wait to use this stocking for decoration this holiday season. I think I'll hang this one up in his nursery. I was looking on ebay at the Pottery Barn Christmas items, specifically stockings and tree skirts. I saw a lot of pre-monogrammed stockings from past years , so I did a quick search "pottery barn brett" and lo, and behold, there was the cutest reindeer ice skating with the name BRETT already stitched on it! SOLD!!! :)

busy mom

Well, my intentions were good, but I've had no follow through...it's been almost a month since I put up that October post. I don't know where the time has gone!

Tomorrow is Brett's 6 month appointment = shots! :(

I will be taking a half day from work and am excited to share the afternoon with my little guy even though it may not be too fun for him - owie, owie!

Tonight I discovered http://www.bigcartel.com/

I set up shop under my new website: http://www.scrapsnthings.bigcartel.com/.

I was able to put five listings up for free.

So, my dishcloths will be on sale there, too.

Since I've been delayed in posting anything, here's a photo of Brett in his first Halloween costume...our little punkin'...well, Brett-o-Lantern. :)

Brett's first artwork!

Created with a very patient Monica.

I heard that she went through several sheets of black paper to get good prints.

Happy birthday to Grandpa Ross on Nov, 6th!
